Easy Sloppy Joe’s

 My mom is responsible for this AMAZING recipe! Even though I despised sloppy Joe’s growing up, when my mom started making this recipe, I actually really enjoyed them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • ½ c + 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • ¼ c water
  • ½ Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ Tbsp white vinegar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground mustard
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • tsp ground all spice
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese optional

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan, add oil and onion, cook until the onions are tender and transparent.
  • Add the hamburger and brown.
  • Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add ground beef to hamburger buns, top with American cheese if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

Sides: fries, mashed potatoes, funeral potatoes, sweet potato fries, trice baked potatoes, tater-tots
Tips: you can enhance this dish by adding bacon, buttering and browning your buns, if you don’t like cutting onions or it is too time consuming, you can substitute onion powder.
