Bread Pudding for Two
Equipment
- 2 8 oz. Ramekins
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cubed Italian bread
- ¼ c sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ c milk
Paste:
- 2 Tbsp softened butter
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
Sauce:
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170℉.
- Place bread cubes on a pan and bake for 10 minutes, flip the bread over and bake another 10 minutes.
- While the bread is baking whisk together the ¼ c of sugar, egg, and milk together in a medium bowl.
- Once the bread has been baked add the bread to the egg mixtures and stir it together until the bread has soaked up all of the liquid.
- Divide the bread evenly into two sprayed 8 oz. ramekins.
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter and brown sugar. Spread this paste over the bread cubes in the ramekins.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350℉.
- While those are in the oven, make your sauce.
- On medium heat and in a small saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and vanilla together. Stir constantly until sugar has melted.
- Once the ramekins are out of the oven, pour the sauce over the bread.
- Enjoy hot and fresh!
