Bread Pudding for Two

Equipment

  • 2 8 oz. Ramekins

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of cubed Italian bread
  • ¼ c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ c milk

Paste:

  • 2 Tbsp softened butter
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar

Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 170℉.
  • Place bread cubes on a pan and bake for 10 minutes, flip the bread over and bake another 10 minutes.
  • While the bread is baking whisk together the ¼ c of sugar, egg, and milk together in a medium bowl.
  • Once the bread has been baked add the bread to the egg mixtures and stir it together until the bread has soaked up all of the liquid.
  • Divide the bread evenly into two sprayed 8 oz. ramekins.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter and brown sugar. Spread this paste over the bread cubes in the ramekins.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350℉.
  • While those are in the oven, make your sauce.
  • On medium heat and in a small saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and vanilla together. Stir constantly until sugar has melted.
  • Once the ramekins are out of the oven, pour the sauce over the bread.
  • Enjoy hot and fresh!
