Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream

This yummy ice cream is perfect for the hot summer we have been having. We used to have this at my grandpa and grandma’s during the summer time when all of our family was together. This recipe makes about a quart of ice cream and you can make it with only a few simple ingredients.

Equipment

  • Electric Ice Cream Maker

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. strawberries divided
  • c cream
  • c sugar
  • ¾ c milk
  • tsp vanilla
  • rock salt
  • 10-20 lb ice

Instructions
 

  • Clean and de-stem strawberries.
  • Blend strawberries to get 1 cup of strawberry puree. Dice the rest of the strawberries and set aside.
  • Place strawberry puree into a medium bowl. Add the cream to the strawberries and stir until combined.
  • Add in the sugar, milk, and vanilla. Stir everything together until the sugar has been dissolved.
  • Place the cream mixture in your ice cream freezer. Fill the sides with ice and rock salt.
  • Run the ice cream freezer for one hour.
  • Freeze overnight for hard ice cream or serve right away for soft serve.

Notes

Variations: Substitute your favorite fruit for the strawberry if you want a different flavor.
